Films: Cyclops (2008)
Alias: None
Type: Mystical
Location: Forest/Civilized Area
Height/Weight: Three times that of an average human.
Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Good
Summary: There are many Greek monsters to choose from. But sometimes, you just need to suck it up and choose the most human of the bunch. It's not fun, yes, but who knows? You just might be able to spin something interesting from it.
History: In ancient Rome, gladiatorial matches are the talk of the town, and emperor Tiberius Caesar is awful as ever. But his newest warrior is guaranteed to bring in the spectators by the hundreds. It is a cyclops having recently been sighted raising sheep at a farm. It is the last of its kind, and Tiberius cannot wait to exploit it after successfully capturing it. But his best commander Marcus is tossed into the pit for insubordination, the traitor and the beast might just be able to put their heads together and overthrow the monstrous emperor.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: When the cyclops and Marcus are pitted against each other, the beast does what's right, and murders the emperor in front of everyone. Unfortunately, he's speared in the eye by one of the emperor's men and dies, though Marcus manages to defeat him as well. Rome is now free from tyranny...for the moment, as all you history buffs know.
Powers/Abilities: None.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 2.5-Let's ignore the bad CGI for a bit and get to the bigger picture. This cyclops may be uncanny and strong, but he's ultimately just as human as anyone else, just not as bright. When the time came, he ultimately made the right call. His sacrifice will be remembered.
Trivia: -Emperor Tiberius was one of Rome's greatest generals, yet at the same time was said to actually be quite reluctant about being emperor, and was a complete social recluse. Then again, what else could you say to a guy who was going to be succeeded by none other than Caligula?
-The cyclops' voice was provided by DeMorge Brown, a small-time film director and comedy performer.
